No one needs to tell Dobs Nation that today is going to be one of the best college football days of the year. There are some pretty enticing match-ups, as well as some great games to bet. Here’s where Dobs has action:
Over/Unders:
Minnesota @ Illinois Under 39.5 - Illinois has an elite defense and is playing back-up QB, Rutgers reject Arthur Sitkowski. Illinois is starting a QB named Arthur and you’re telling me it’s going to score more than two touchdowns? Zero chance. The only way this goes over is in a Minnesota blowout, which I really don’t see. These are two teams that primarily run the ball and operate at an extremely methodical place. Minn averages over 31 seconds per play, which is one of the slowest offenses in the country. Illinois isn’t much faster, and I’d expect that pace of play to slow further with Arthur at QB.
Kansas @ Oklahoma Over 64 - The total is artificially low off of the 0 that OK put up against Texas last week. The Sooners will have Dillon Gabriel back at QB and neither defense can stop anything. This will be over by halftime.
Iowa State @ Texas Over 48.5 - The total is artificially low based on the 0 that OK put up last week and based on the fact that Iowa State sucks. I think it’s likely a Texas blowout win, but it’s tough to not back Matt Campbell in these spots, so I’m staying away from the line and taking the over instead.
The Games:
Ohio Pk @ Western Michigan - WMU is total trash, but it’s the MAC so…
TCU -3 1st Half vs @ OK State - One of these teams is a legit Big12 Title contender, one is a pretender. The OK State defense has little chance of slowing down TCU, and I think the Pokes make enough mistakes to lose by more than a TD.
TCU -4 vs OK State
Eastern Michigan -2.5 vs No. Illinois - NIU is one of the worst FBS teams in the country. Eastern Michigan is the same 6-6 team every season. I could go into more detail, but no one really care.
Alabama -7 @ Tennessee - I feel like we’ve seen this situation play out before…if this loses, I’m going to lose with Saban and Alabama.
Utah -3.5 vs USC - Another story we’ve heard before. When Top 10 teams are road underdogs to non top 10 teams, they lose, and they don’t cover. The lower ranked home favorite is something like 14-2 in these situations ATS. Utah is the better team, regardless of what the rankings show.
Early Slate ML Parlay: This is a long shot and should be no more than a smallish bet, Dobs has a unit on it. Bowling Green +225 & ODU +345
Enjoy the Saturday, and best of luck.
